A PDF that is only text is already compressed and may barely change. When a file is already optimised we tell you so and hand back the original rather than degrading it for a fraction of a percent.

Yes. Pages are never rasterised into flat pictures, so text stays as real text: still selectable, still searchable, and still sharp if the document is printed or verified at a counter. Only the images embedded in the file are re-encoded.

Files are sent over an encrypted connection and processed on the server, and the original upload is deleted immediately afterwards. The compressed copy is kept only long enough for you to download it and is deleted automatically within 30 minutes. No account is required, nothing is indexed and nobody reads your documents.

First try the High compression level if you used Low or Medium. If it is still too big, the pages themselves are probably scanned at a very high resolution: rescan at 200 dpi rather than 600, or photograph the document instead of scanning it, then compress again. Splitting a long document and uploading only the pages the form asks for also helps.

Yes. The tools are fully responsive and work in any modern mobile browser on Android and iOS, including picking a file from Google Drive, iCloud Drive, WhatsApp downloads or your Files app. There is nothing to install and no difference in features from the desktop version.
