JPG, PNG, or WEBP — up to 20MB

How to compress an image

Four steps, no account, nothing to install.

  1. Step 1: Upload your image

Drag and drop a JPG, PNG or WEBP up to 20MB, or browse straight from your phone gallery. No sign-up, no email.

  2. Step 2: Pick the target size

Tap 10, 20, 30, 50, 100, 200 or 500 KB — or 1 MB — to match what your form allows, or switch to Custom quality and move the slider yourself.

  3. Step 3: We compress it

Indian Jobs Hub re-encodes the picture towards that exact byte size, stepping quality down only as far as the target needs. Pixel dimensions are left untouched.

  4. Step 4: Check and download

Original size, new size and the percentage saved are shown before you download, so you know the file will clear the limit.

Why use this image compressor

Built by Indian Jobs Hub for the people our PDF compressor already serves — students and applicants fighting a form's upload limit at 2am.

  • Hit an exact KB size

Ask for 20 KB, 50 KB or 100 KB and the compressor works towards that number, instead of leaving you to guess at a quality slider and re-upload three times.

  • Built for form uploads

SSC, UPSC, Railway, IBPS and state portals reject a photo that is a few KB over the cap. The presets here are the sizes those notifications actually print.

  • Convert while you compress

Upload a PNG screenshot and download a JPG, or move to WEBP for a lighter web page — the output format is a single tap, not a second tool.

  • Private by design

Your image travels over an encrypted connection and is deleted from the server as soon as it has been processed. Nothing is stored, shared or reused.

  • Works on any device

Compress from an Android phone, iPhone, tablet or desktop. There is nothing to install and no difference in features between them.

  • Free, with no watermark

No subscription, no per-file charge and no logo stamped across your photo — compress as many images as you need.

Frequently asked questions

Everything people ask before compressing their first image.

How do I compress an image to 20 KB or 50 KB online for free?

Drag your JPG, PNG or WEBP onto the upload box above, then tap the target size your form allows — for example 20 KB or 50 KB. The Indian Jobs Hub image compressor re-encodes the picture to land at or under that size and shows you the final file size before you download it. It is free, there is no sign-up, and there is no limit on how many images you can compress.

Which image formats and file sizes can I upload?

JPG (JPEG), PNG and WEBP files up to 20MB are accepted, and you can download the result in any of those three formats. That means you can also convert while compressing — for example uploading a PNG screenshot and downloading the JPG most government portals require.

Will compressing my photo make it blurry?

Some detail is always lost when a picture is made smaller, but quality is stepped down gradually so the image stays as sharp as the target size allows. For a passport-size photo shown at 200 by 230 pixels, a 20 KB to 50 KB file still looks clean on screen and in print. Ask for an unrealistically small size on a large photo and softness becomes visible, so use the size your form actually requires rather than the smallest you can get.

Does the compressor change my image dimensions?

No. Only the file size changes — the width and height in pixels stay exactly as they were. If you also need to change the dimensions, use the Photo Resizer or Signature Resizer, which set the pixel size and the KB limit together.

What photo size do SSC, UPSC, Railway and IBPS forms ask for?

Most Indian recruitment portals ask for a recent passport-style colour photograph of roughly 3.5 by 4.5 cm — about 200 by 230 pixels — as a JPEG between 20 KB and 50 KB, and a signature on white paper between 10 KB and 20 KB. Requirements do vary between SSC, UPSC, Railway, IBPS and state boards, so confirm the numbers printed in the official notification and then enter them here.

Are my images safe and private?

Yes. Images are sent over an encrypted connection, processed on the server, and the upload is deleted immediately afterwards. Nobody views, stores or shares your photos, no account is required, and nothing is used for training or advertising.

Why did my PNG barely get smaller?

PNG is a lossless format with no quality dial, so a target size can only be approached by reducing the colour palette — and on a detailed photograph that has limited room to work. If the file must be small, choose JPG as the output format instead; PNG is worth keeping only when you need a transparent background or a screenshot of sharp text.

Does the image compressor work on a mobile phone?

Yes. The tool is fully responsive and works in any modern Android or iOS browser, including picking a photo straight from your gallery, Google Drive or Downloads folder. Nothing needs to be installed.
