Very complex layouts — text boxes, headers and footers, multi-column pages — are simplified, so it is always worth opening the PDF and checking it reads the way you expect before you submit it.

Yes. The PDF contains real text, not a picture of your pages, so it can be selected, copied and searched — and any portal that scans an uploaded document for your name, roll number or date of birth can read it. That is also why the file stays small: a converted two-page résumé is usually well under 100 KB.

It depends on the server this tool is running on. When the full document converter is installed, any language your document uses is converted exactly as written. Without it, the built-in converter can only draw Latin scripts, and a document in Devanagari, Bengali, Tamil or another Indian script is refused with a message saying so rather than converted into empty boxes. If you see that message, use File then Save as PDF or Export in Word itself, which always handles your own language correctly.

Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, converted on the server, and the upload is deleted the moment the conversion finishes. The PDF is kept only long enough for you to download it and is deleted automatically within 30 minutes. No account is required, nothing is indexed, and nobody reads, stores or shares your documents.

No. An encrypted document cannot be opened without its password, so its contents cannot be laid out into a PDF. Open the file in Word, go to File, Info, Protect Document and remove the password, save a copy, and convert that copy instead. We check for this as soon as you upload and tell you if that is the problem.
